Another Sunday. It has been a couple of weeks since I posted to this blog. Here is another inspirational song that means a lot to me.
Song: Sinner Saved By Grace
Artist: Gaither Vocal Band
Album: Best of Gaither Vocal Band
If you could see what I once was, if you could go with me
Back to where I started from then you would see
A miracle of love that took me in its sweet embrace
And made me what I am today:
Just an old sinner saved by grace
I'm just a sinner saved by grace
When I stood condemned to death he took my place
Now I live and breathe in freedom with each breath of life I take
Loved and forgiven, back with the living
I'm just a sinner saved by grace
How could I boast on anything I've seen or done
How could I dare to claim as mine the victories God as won
Where would I be had God not brought me gently to this place
I'm here to say I'm nothing but a sinner saved by grace
I'm just a sinner saved by grace
When I stood condemned to death he took my place
Now I grow and breathe in freedom with each breath of life I take
Loved and forgiven, back with the living
I'm just a sinner saved by grace
Now I grow and breathe in freedom with each breath of life I take
Loved and forgiven, back with the living
I'm just a sinner saved by grace
Saved by grace...

About Me
About This Blog
Songs mean a lot to me. In this Blog I am sharing songs that have specific meaning to me. My tastes are varied but lean particularly to Country.
The lyrics of a song have meaning to the writer. I know a song can be popular for the tune and beat. It is when the words find a connection with the heart and find a common experience in the life of the listener the song becomes a classic.
Here you will learn more about what makes me tick than you probably want to know. I also hope it gives you some pause for reflection too on joys, sorrows, successes and struggles we all face.
I'll give you the song title, album I found it on, and the lyrics. You can decide whether you want to download it from your favorite music site.

Loving God, Loving Each Other
In Matthew 22 is the discussion of the Greatest Commandment:
Hearing that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, the Pharisees got together. One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question: "Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?" Jesus replied: "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments."
Yesterday's post showed one view of how to handle one's problems. The Christian has another view. If our churches practiced this better we might find more people finding their way to our doors in search of comfort.
Song: Loving God, Loving Each Other
Artist: Gaither Vocal Band
Album: The Best of the Gaither Vocal Band
Loving God, loving each other,
Making music with my friends;
Loving God, loving each other,
And the story never ends.
They pushed back from the table
To listen to His words,
His secret plan before He had to go.
It's not complicated;
Don't need a lot of rules,
This is all you need to know.
Loving God, loving each other,
Making music with my friends;
Loving God, loving each other,
And the story never ends.
We tend to make it harder,
Build steeples out of stone,
Fill books with explanations of The Way,
But if we'd stop and listen
And break a little bread,
We would hear the Master say
Loving God, loving each other,
Making music with my friends;
Loving God, loving each other,
And the story never ends.
Loving God, loving each other,
Making music with my friends;
Loving God, loving each other,

And the story never ends.
No, the story never ends.

Jesus and John Wayne
Thank God for grace.
Mom and Dad celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this weekend. They did such a great job in providing us a home to ground us in the Lord and grow us into mature adults. It worked really well for my sisters.
I have had to learn some things they hard way! LOL
This song is my shout out to Mom's and Dad's teamwork in teaching me right and God's ability to fix what I screw up!
Worth the download!
Song: Jesus and John Wayne
Artist: Gaither Vocal Band
Album: Lovin' Life
Daddy was a cowboy hard as a rock
Mama she was quiet as a prayer
Daddy’d always tell me, “Son, you gotta be tough
Mama would kiss my cheek and say, “play fair”
I did my best to make ‘em proud of me
But it’s never been an easy place to be
Somewhere between Jesus and John Wayne
A cowboy and a saint, the cross and the open range
I try to be more like you Lord,But most days I know I ain’t
I’m somewhere between Jesus and John Wayne.
Mama’s love was tender, Daddy’s love was strong
Both of them were there to help the weak
They taught me to stand up and fight for what is right
And showed me how to turn the other cheek
Now I see there’s both of them in me
And maybe that’s the best that I can ever hope to be
Somewhere between Jesus and John Wayne
A cowboy and a saint, the cross and the open range
I try to be more like you Lord,But most days I know I ain’t
I’m somewhere between Jesus and John Wayne.
