Tell Me One More Time About Jesus

There is an outside chance a couple I know will be attending a worship service with a church this morning. It will be the 1st worship service in a long time. I have been praying for these guys for a long time. They have given themselves to lots of different things. Perhaps they will find the true source of peace, comfort and redemption. I am praying again this morning.

This song comes to mind for them...

Song: Tell Me One More Time About Jesus
Artist: Vince Gill
Album: These Days

Tell me one more time about Jesus
All about forgiveness and grace
Tell me one more time about Jesus
All about my saviour's face

Here comes my old friend - the preacher
He's knockin' on my front door
He's out tryin' to save all the sinners
He's been here so many times before

I love the easy conversation
Man, that preacher sure can talk
He brings up my need for salvation
Even though he knows I'm stubborn to a fault

Tell me one more time about Jesus
All about forgiveness and grace
Tell me one more time about Jesus
Lord, I need just a little more faith

I walked by the church Sunday mornin'
I slipped on in the back door
It's sure been a long time comin'
But tell me, preacher, what I need to know

His words were like a cool drink of water
He said, "Sinners, come on down the isle"
So I went runnin' for the alter
You should have seen my ol' friend, the preacher, smile

Tell me one more time about Jesus
All about forgiveness and grace
Tell me one more time about Jesus
I long to see my saviour's face

Oh, I long to see my saviour's face.

A River Like You

Most people who read my blogs know my wife, Debbie. She is pretty amazing. She NEVER stops working to keep the house a home. She has stood by me through lay-offs, business failure, sickness and most incredibly in my normalcy. Listening to my iTunes tonight I heard this one again for the 1st time in a while. I dedicate it to her. There will be others I will dedicate to her too. But tonight it is this one.

Song: A River Like You
Artist: Vince Gill
Album: These Days

A good woman's love is like a river
Runnin' through the heart of a man
If he gives her all he can give her
She'll be with him at every bend

In other rivers I've crossed
A reflection was lost
And shallow waters left me blue
Girl, I never came across a river like you

A river like you
Where your love runs so deep and true
A river like you
Like a waterfall fallin' into
A river like you

I spent all my time searchin'
Runnin' like the wayward wind
You found me desperately driftin'
And touched my heart and took me in

Now your love runs through me
and in your eyes I see
Reflections I never knew
I'll always be sailin' on
A river like you

A river like you
Where your love runs so deep and true
A river like you
Like a waterfall fallin' into
A river like you

In other rivers I've crossed
A reflection was lost
And shallow waters left me blue
Girl, I'll always keep sailin' on
A river like you

A river like you
Where your love runs so deep and true
A river like you
Like a waterfall fallin' into
A river like you
A river like you
A river like you

My Kind of Woman, My Kind of Man

Debbie and I have several songs we like and think of as "ours." This is one of them. I have a pretty remarkable wife who really does not ask for much. A tv, satellite so she can get QVC and a phone with QVC on speed dial.

No, really, the words of this song hit home for both of us. A great duet by two of my favorite singers.

Song: My Kind of Woman, My Kind of Man
Artists: Patty Loveless and Vince Gill
Album: Classics (Patty Loveless)

(Vince) You don't need diamonds or big fancy cars
You say you're happy right where you are
(Patty) We're bound together by a little gold band
You're my kind of woman
(Patty) and You're my kind man

(Vince) Oh living without you is my only fear
You still drive me crazy when I hold you near
(Patty) My body trembles with the touch of your hand
(Vince)You're my kind of woman
(Patty) and You're my kind man

(Together) You're my kind of woman
You're my kind man
A match made in heaven
By God's gentle hands
I'll love you forever
Together we'll stand
(Vince) You're my kind of woman
(Patty) You're my kind man

(Together) You're my kind of woman
You're my kind man
A match made in heaven
By God's gentle hands
I'll love you forever
Together we'll stand
(Vince) You're my kind of woman
(Patty) You're my kind man
(Vince) You're my kind of woman
(Patty) And you're my kind man

Find A Place To Hold On

Just a quick note to say that on Sundays I will take the opportunity to post about hymns, songs of faith and christian songs.
====================================================

It is hard to get my pea-sized brain around the concept of time and eternity. The fact that God has always been causes the word, "TILT" to appear on my forehead. This, I guess, is where faith kicks in.

God not only has been and will be around forever, he has been working about a plan to have me with him. And no matter how much I mess up that relationship he is devising a plan to fix it.

God is seeking a way to protect me. The one who created time and has been around for every tick wants me with him. I should not question his plan. I have nothing to bring. I should just just find a place to grab a hold and cling. He'll take it from there.

This a a great version of this hymn
